The composition of the medium is exactly the same as gam Agar, modified excluding agar. The medium is liquid and is used for the isolation and cultivation of anaerobic bacteria from clinical samples. The medium is also used for other susceptibility tests than sulfa drugs, particularly for the microdilution method for anaerobic bacteria.
